THE INTAGLIOS COLLECTION.
Encompassing the entire concept of the Intaglios line is the 7000 year old art of gemstone engraving. The pens, jewelry, and objets d’art of the collection are modeled after scenes from the Ancient Greek Mythology depicted on antique intaglios (designs incised or engraved into a gemstone). Often utilizing a unique technique of fusing 24k gold and sterling silver, the luxurious items in the Intaglios assortment portray a vivid narrative and illustration of a culture long gone. The smithing process employed is one that has character, grit, a sense of history and identity. The pieces have the semblance of being unearthed following a millennia long slumber under the earth, primed to be rediscovered for their rich and captivating allure. This collection has a unique significance since Chavdar Chushev is a master gem engraver himself and often creates gemstone intaglios to be incorporated in his jewelry designs.

THE CROWN & GEAR COLLECTION.
The Crown and Gear collection draws on the intricate and structured design features of the iconic Swiss watch. The individual watch components are carefully selected, re-fabricated in precious metals, and composed into elaborate designs often jeweled with Diamonds and Sapphires (gems traditionally used as bearings in fine watches). The resulting pieces are unique in their appeal. They fire our imagination and make us lose ourselves in their micro-cosmos. It is through this reinterpretation that the old Swiss watches are given a new life as wearable art, writing instruments and sculptures, thus becoming an integral part of the Chushev collection.
The line also incorporates aesthetics from the Steampunk genre, a literary and stylistic concept based on 19th century industrial steam powered mechanics. The initial concept of Crown and Gear was developed in the 1980’s while Chavdar Chushev was designing collections for a European Jewelry company well before the emergence of the Steampunk genre in the cultural scene. Despite not being the genesis of the Crown and Gear collection, Steampunk’s abstract and rugged stylistic interpretations have nonetheless served as a continued source of inspiration for the development of our own category.
THE natura COLLECTION.
The Natura collection is founded on the concept of eternalizing the impermanent. We morph objects with a blend of ancient and modern fabrication techniques using various precious metals and gemstones. We find beauty in the weathered, old, frayed and twisted and thus choose to solidify it in time to be adored and cherished. Whether the pieces are modeled after scarab beetles, autumn leaves, or oak branches, they embody a unique interpretation of a life that once was.
